Man, 49, dies following skydiving horror in Devon

A 49-year-old man was confirmed dead, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

A spokesman for the force said: "His family have been informed.

"Scene guards remain in place currently, and enquiries are ongoing into the incident by the relevant agencies.

"Our thoughts remain with the family and friends at this difficult time."

The incident comes a year after two people died while skydiving in the area of Dunkeswell Aerodrome in June last year.

Chiropractic student Adam Harrison, 30, died in the incident alongside 48-year-old mother-of-four Belinda Taylor.

Paying tribute shortly after the incident, Ms Taylor's son, Elias Baaklini, described his mum as a "caring woman" who was "always supporting no matter what it was".

Dunkeswell Aerodrome is located in the Blackdown Hills.

It advertises activities including skydiving, wing walking and helicopter training.

On its website, the site said it initially started as a World War Two Naval Base and is now a "vibrant and busy hub for the general aviation community".
