Coronation Street and Brookside actor James Caroll has passed away.
The actor was best known for his role as Brian 'Bumper' Humphreys in Brookside from 1988 to 1991.
James has appeared on television screens as recently as this year, appearing as Mary Taylor's friend Colin in ITV soap Coronation Street earlier this year.
No cause of death has been confirmed yet, but it is believed the actor passed away suddenly.

It was reported in 2020 that Carrol was battling pneumonia, but he went on to make a full recovery.
James was known for taking up extra curricular activities such as the running of a YouTube channel where he documented his life.
James Caroll also dedicated his time to a YouTube channel.

The actor revealed on the channel that he lived with a condition that meant arteries in his brain could rupture at any moment.
The late actor, who lived in Preston, was also a member of musical act 2 Toned, a Ska tribute duo that specialised in ska, reggae and 2 tone music.
Following the news of his death, a member of James' band paid tribute in an emotional Facebook post.
They said: "My Heart is Broken. My amazing Friend, mentor and brother James Caroll Jimmy has sadly passed away. Jimmy and I had an awesome act and we had 12 great years and over 850 shows all over country and met and entertained thousands of wonderful people many now we call friends.
"The time on stage was sensational but the quality time spent traveling, laughing, crying, joking and of course singing and just being a huge part of each others lives is something.
"I will always remember and treasure for the rest of my days. I love you Jim goodnight until we meet again my dearest friend enjoy yourself it's later than you think."
