Videos of the blaze and scores of panicked delegates evacuating have been shared across social media

A huge fire has erupted at a pavilion inside the venue of the Cop30, plunging the environmentalist conference into chaos.

Emergency crews have rushed to control the blaze in Belem, Brazil, as video from the event shows flames and smoke engulfing the interior of the venue


Other videos showed the panicked evacuations of delegates and security trying to control the situation.

Police formed a human barrier outside the pavilion to prevent anyone from approaching the blaze.

Staff have said the fire originated in the area of the site where nations and organisations have their public-facing stands, per Reuters.

Brazil's tourism minister has told reporters the fire is under control and no one has so far been hurt.
