Officers are in attendance near Holy Trinity Primary School

A school is on lockdown in Greater Manchester following an incident outside a primary school.

Holy Trinity Primary School in Bury is currently closed, with parents and pupils being told to "stay away" following an incident.

Cecil Street is currently cordoned off, with officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in attendance at the scene.

One parent told the Manchester Evening News: "We got a text telling us not to come in. We got one which said come at 11am, then another saying don’t come at 11am, we will let you know further details."

She continued: "It’s very worrying. Obviously we don’t know what’s happened yet but it’s very scary. I only live around the corner."

A GMP spokesman told GB News: "Officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Cecil Street in Bury yesterday evening at 9.34pm.

"The victim, a 19-year-old man, suffered injuries that are not life-changing or life-threatening.

"Four people, two 23-year-old men and two 16-year-old boys, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. They are all in custody.
