An Iranian man and two Egyptian men have been remanded in custody after being charged with two counts of rape.

Sussex police say they have conducted a "fast-paced investigation" after a woman was attacked on Brighton beach in the early hours of Saturday, October 4.

The three foreign nationals all appeared at magistrates' court today.

Abdulla Ahmadi, a 25-year-old Iranian national who lives in Crewe, communicated through a translator.

Two Egyptian nationals who live in Horsham, were named by police as 20-year-old Karin Al-Danasurt, and 25-year-old Ibrahim Alshafe.

Sussex police say a 33-year-old woman is being supported by specialist officers.

The three men are due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on November 13.
