Twelve people are dead after two gunmen opened fire at the Sydney beach on Sunday night, the first night of Hanukkah.
New South Wales Police premier Chris Minns has now declared the horrific event to be a terrorist attack, where members of the Jewish community were targeted.
A video shared on social media captured a man hiding behind a vehicle, slowly approaching a gunman who had his back turned away from his ambusher.
The attacker was facing the opposite direction, when the man launched himself on a man dressed in a black shirt and light-coloured trousers.

The duo started to wrestle for the gun, with the brave man brandishing the weapon in the other man's face, who then walks away.
The hero then dropped the rifle by a tree raising his hands to the police, while the gunman walked away slowly.
Across the way on the bridge, another gunman continues to take aim at crowds.
In the latest update, Mr Minns paid tribute to the man who was filmed wrestling with the man, snatching the rifle and forcing them off.
"That man is a genuine hero, and I've got no doubt there are many, many people alive tonight as a result of his bravery," he lauded.

Plenty have flocked to social media to applaud the sheer bravery of the man who disarmed the attacker, cheering for the heroic act.
One admirer said: "This brave guy just earned himself unlimited beers for life after sneaking up on the mass shooter from Bondi and ripping the gun out of his hands.
"What an absolute legend."
New South Wales Police has since confirmed that two suspects are in custody.
Other videos on social media show the shooters standing on a nearby bridge as they took aim at people in the crowd while individuals screamed and ran for safety.

The force added "suspicious items" at the scene on Bondi Beach are being examined.
Earlier in the evening, people gathered to celebrated the first day of Hanukkah.
Today, Israeli President Isaac Herzog declared the shooting a "very cruel attack on Jews".
"We understand an event to mark the first day of the Jewish celebration Hanukkah was taking place on Bondi Beach at the time. It is unclear what the motive of the attackers was.
"Our sisters and brothers in Sydney have been attacked by vile terrorists in a very cruel attack on Jews who went to light the first candle of Hanukkah on Bondi Beach," Mr Herzog said.
