‘You don’t want to be on the wrong side of him!’ Donald Trump ‘fuming’ over BBC chaos, White House tells GB News

The BBC has been accused of selectively splicing footage of Donald Trump’s speech to supporters on January 6, in an episode of its flagship show Panorama.

The show patched together sections of the remarks to suggest that Mr Trump said: “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you, and we fight. We fight like hell.”

These words came from two parts of the speech spoken almost an hour apart, omitting a part in which Mr Trump said he wanted supporters "to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard".

Bev noted that the White House confirmed that Mr Trump is not treating the issue lightly and is actively monitoring the BBC’s response, insisting that he will hold the broadcaster accountable unless it meets his demands.

Speaking on The People's Channel from the US, Bev explained: "He's so frustrated by what he sees as an erroneous depiction of him in the media.

"So this hits hard for Donald Trump. I think he feels very vindicated because he finally has a concrete example of where a broadcaster spliced together an interview to depict him in a particular way.

"I spoke to the White House this morning, and they said he is fuming, the boss is fuming. He’s furious about this and not going to let it go away. He has a busy day today, you’ve been talking about some of the other things on his calendar, but he’s not going to drop this.

"What I think is interesting, is that he is looking at what he did in America with their public service broadcaster.

"They have PBS, which is the closest equivalent to the BBC, and earlier this year as part of the Doge clean-up, Donald Trump took $1.1billion off PBS.

In May, the White House issued a statement saying that Washington funding of news media is outdated, unnecessary, and corrosive to journalistic independence.

"If Americans are expected to fund public service broadcasting, they have a right to expect fair, accurate, non-biased, and non-partisan news coverage.

"Overnight, PBS had that funding removed and now relies on donations and direct audience contributions."

The BBC’s director general Tim Davie resigned on Sunday, admitting that a Panorama episode aired ahead of last year’s US presidential election was "misleading".

Mr Trump responded to the resignations on Sunday, saying top people in the BBC were quitting or being fired "because they were caught 'doctoring' my very good (PERFECT!) speech of January 6th".

"These are very dishonest people who tried to step on the scales of a Presidential Election," he wrote. "What a terrible thing for Democracy!"

The BBC has not responded in detail to the concerns raised in the internal memo published by the Telegraph.

The interview with Mr Trump’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, scheduled to be aired later today on GB News, will explore the level of action President Trump is prepared to take and how far he intends to push the BBC on this issue.
