This weekend saw sites like Wembley Stadium and Stamford Bridge transformed into vaccination centres, both offering 10,000 jabs to members of the public

Anti-vaxxers used the introduction of mass vaccination centres over the weekend to block those hoping to receive their jab.

It is believed they booked appointments with no intention of attending, according to The Telegraph.

This weekend saw sites like Wembley Stadium and Stamford Bridge transformed into vaccination centres, both offering 10,000 jabs to members of the public.

A GP in North West London who was working at one of the sites, told BBC News that the events were “running smoothly”, adding: "If we can get 10,000 today, that will be excellent."

It is thought that the amount of walk-in appointments meant that the attempt to block people from getting their vaccine was not impacted.

It comes as Police officers suffered “minor injuries” during “scuffles” at an anti-vaccine passport protest in Parliament Square.

The officers were injured while attempting to escort a police motorcyclist through the area at around 12.30pm on Saturday, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Later at around 3pm a group of protesters stopped outside a shop on Regents Street, police said.

They began “directing abuse” at people inside and egging the shop until police intervened, ending the incident.

No injuries were reported.

Officers are said to be “closely monitoring” the demonstration.

The Met added that no arrests have been made.

GB News London reporter Alice Porter told Alastair Stewart that there was "a jovial atmosphere" with "no animosity."

"I was speaking to one man who said he's never been to a protest before. It was the vote on Tuesday for Covid passes that was the issue."
