A teacher at a school in Hull has raised concerns over the upcoming phase-out of BTEC qualifications, warning it could leave future students with fewer pathways to further education and careers.
Speaking on A-level results day, staff said most students achieved their goals but a minority did not reach the grades they needed.
Those students are being offered one-to-one support, including advice on alternative university courses, apprenticeships, and job opportunities.

Paul, a BTEC law teacher at the school, told GB News: "From a personal perspective, I’ve seen firsthand how fantastic the qualification is.
"All my students who completed BTEC law this year are going on to do wonderful things in the legal profession.
"It’s really sad that future students might not have the same qualification opportunities.
"We can counsel them using the programmes we offer at the college, but it remains a worry that they won’t have the same options as previous cohorts."
The comments come as students across the UK hit a milestone with record high A-levels and unprecedented success in university admissions.
A record-breaking number of 18-year-olds have gained entry to their preferred universities, according to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.
