Alcohol-free alternatives are also available at competitive prices

Wetherspoons has launched a massive January sale across more than 600 of its pubs throughout the UK.

The budget-friendly promotion, which continues until 15 January, sees the popular chain slashing prices on a wide range of drinks and food items.

Pubgoers can start their New Year's off with pints of Worthington's beer available for just 99p.

Beyond the headline beer deal, the sale features 250ml glasses of Coldwater Creek wine at £2.99, with customers able to choose from chardonnay, pinot grigio, rosé or merlot varieties.

Spirit drinkers can also take advantage of reduced prices, with Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky and Tanqueray gin both offered at £1.99 for a 25ml measure including a mixer.

These discounted drinks are part of the chain's effort to mirror the traditional January sales seen in department stores and high street shops, bringing the post-Christmas bargain hunting culture into the pub environment.

For those participating in Dry January, the pub chain has ensured plenty of alcohol-free alternatives remain available at competitive prices.

A selection of non-alcoholic beverages is priced at £1.69 each, including Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, BrewDog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero and Kopparberg Alcohol Free.

Wetherspoon's founder and chairman Tim Martin said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs."

He added: "As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly."

Customers should note that approximately 200 other Wetherspoon locations may have slightly different pricing, so checking with your local pub before visiting is advisable.
