Supermarkets, including Tesco, are sharing how customers can make big savings while shopping

Tesco is urging customers to take advantage of a new scheme which could save households up to £176 a year on their supermarket shop.

The supermarket is reminding consumers to sign up for an Anytime Delivery Saver plan and make sure they get early access to popular delivery slots ahead of the Easter bank holiday.

Slots for Tesco Delivery and Click+Collect slots are open to all customers from 6am on February 27.

However, anyone signed up to an Anytime Delivery plan or Anytime Click+Collect plan can get a week’s head start with slots opening to this group at 6am tomorrow (February 20).

While this delivery plan is beneficial for households during holidays, such as Easter, the subscription-based service is available all year long.

Plans can run from six to 12 months and are priced from just £2.49 a month. Orders can be delivered directly to your door or through collection at select stores.

According to Tesco, those interested in this plan could make a sizable saving of £176 a year which will be useful during the cost of living crisis.

This potential saving is based on a 12-month Anytime Delivery plan at £6.99 a month versus a weekly delivery costing £5.

As it stands, the Anytime Delivery Plan and same day delivery comes to £6.99 for a full year with access to priority Christmas and Easter delivery slots.

In comparison, the Off Peak Delivery Plan costs £3.99 a month for a 12-month plan but does not increase access to priority slots during the holiday season.

Furthermore, the Click+Collect plan is £2.49 for six months and includes access to the priority collection slots during Christmas and Easter.

Tom Denyard, the managing director of Tesco Online, encouraged shoppers to take advantage of this savings scheme while it is still available.

He shared: “We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up some family favourites or treat themselves to something special for Easter.

“Our cracking and convenient Anytime Delivery Saver plans not only give you early access to slots, but they can also save you an amazing £176 a year on delivery or collection fees.

“And as we help customers plan ahead for their Easter shop this year, there is no better time to sign up to Delivery Saver and benefit from priority slot bookings.”
