Poundland has confirmed the locations of 12 stores earmarked for closure at the end of this month in a blow to British high streets and consumers.
The discount retailer is already shutting down 37 shops in the next few days with closures set to take place between August 31 and September 14.
This comes amid widespread store closures that have swept the UK with popular brands closing shops in favour of moving their business online.
It comes as Poundland is in the process of a major restructuring process after being sold for £1 to Gordon Brothers by Pepco Group earlier this year.

Earlier this year, the brand already annoucned the locations of 37 other shops closing this month, as part a wider plan to shutdown 68 stores before mid-October 2025.
Outside of the closures on August 31, ten locations will cease operations on August 10, with 15 closing on August 17 and another 12 leaving the high street on August 24.
Already three stores out of the confirmed 68 closures have taken place, however the locations of the 16 other closures have yet to be confirmed.
Darren MacDonald, the retail director at Poundland, said: "It is of course, sincerely regrettable that our recovery plans include any store closures, but sadly that’s necessary if we’re to achieve our goal of securing the future of thousands of jobs and hundreds of stores.
"It goes without saying that we will work closely with colleagues through a formal consultation process in stores scheduled to close, exploring any suitable alternative roles."
As it stands, the retailer operates around 800 stores across the UK and is looking to slash this number to somewhere between 650 and 700.
