Business leaders are criticising the status quo for workplace sick leave after a new report today found that long-term sickness could cost UK employers £6billion a year.
The recently published "Keep Britain Working Review' revealed one in five working-age adults are now classed as “economically inactive”, which is costing he UK economy around £85billion a year.
Both the Government and private sector are now looking at ways to keep more people in work, which could see changes to current workplace sick leave provision.
