The Women Against State Pension Inequality (Waspi) campaign has secured a much-needed win as the Labour Government has confirmed plans to reconsider a potential compensation plan.
In recent years, women born in the 1950s have lobbied MPs in an effort to receive a payout for the 3.8 million women who they claim were adversely affected by historic changes to the state pension age.
Yesterday, Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden told Parliament that "evidence" had come to light which suggests the issue of compensation will be one minsters will reexamine in the months to come.
