The Chancellor is set to unveil tax reforms in next week's Budget on November 26

Thousands of homeowners could be slapped with a new property tax as part of Chancellor Rachel Reeves's Budget reforms next week

It is understood the Treasury is floating a controversial property levy that could affect residences valued from just £135,000, despite the measure being termed a "mansion tax".

If introduced, this tax would require revaluation of all properties in council tax bands F, G and H, representing one in ten homes across England.
