He wrote: "PENSION CREDIT CAN BE WORTH £1,000s YET 900,000 ELIGIBLE ARE MISSING OUT."
The benefit is aimed at those of state pension age, typically 66 and over, who have a low total weekly income.

For single pensioners, he said individuals are likely to qualify if their weekly income is below £238, although he advised it may still be worth checking with earnings up to £255 per week.
For couples where both partners have reached state pension age, a combined weekly income below £363 is expected to qualify.
He added that even those earning slightly more, up to £380 per week between them, could still be eligible depending on their circumstances.

Mr Lewis said checking eligibility is straightforward and can be done online or by phone.
He wrote: "Don't stall, just call (or check online) to see if you're due it."
