Nando's has confirmed plans to open 14 new restaurants during the current financial year ending February 2026 in a win for peri-peri chicken lovers.
This expansion marks an acceleration from the previous year's 12 openings and comes amid widespread store closures that have swept Britain's high streets.
The South African-owned restaurant group's ambitious growth strategy follows a robust financial performance.
Annual revenues climbed eight per cent to reach £1.48billion for the year ending February 2025, while operating profits surged to £146.6million from £59.8million the previous year.

The company attributes its strong results to sustained consumer appetite for its flame-grilled offerings, which has driven higher sales volumes across its estate.
Furthermore, Nando's recently filed accounts indicate that sales momentum continued through to August, with management expressing encouragement about consumer demand levels.
This strong financial performance reflects what the company describes as "robust consumer demand" for its peri-peri chicken offerings, which has translated into increased sales volumes throughout its restaurant network.
Despite the positive results, the restaurant chain faces mounting financial pressures from tax and wage rises implemented in April.

To counter these challenges, the company has implemented various cost saving initiatives.
These include productivity enhancements and the installation of energy-efficient grills across its UK and Irish operations to reduce power consumption.
The business acknowledged in its accounts: "While these actions have been effective in mitigating some of the impact, we anticipate that cost pressures will continue to affect our overall performance in the current financial year."

"The macro-economic outlook for the financial year ending February 2026 remains uncertain, however we see significant growth potential in all our markets and are continuing to invest for the future, with further menu innovation, enhancements to our digital capabilities and new restaurant openings planned in all our markets, including 14 in the UK."
