Aldi has announced the towns and cities across the UK that will benefit from its £1.6billion investment boost, which will see 80 new outlets open throughout 2026 and 2027.
This investment forms part of the retailer's strategy to expand its presence from 1,060 current locations to 1,500 stores nationwide.
The fourth-largest UK supermarket revealed these plans in its yearly trading statement this week, citing increasing consumer demand for budget-friendly grocery options.
Beyond establishing new locations, the investment will fund improvements to current stores and enhance the company's distribution infrastructure.

The expansion programme is expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities whilst providing additional business for British suppliers.
Giles Hurley, the chief executive at Aldi, emphasised the company's focus on maintaining competitive pricing during challenging economic times.
"Shoppers are still finding things difficult and that's why we're staying laser-focused on doing what Aldi does best - offering customers great quality products at unbeatable prices," Mr Hurley stated.
He highlighted the retailer's straightforward pricing approach: "Nobody else is making the same commitment to everyday low prices no clubs, no gimmicks, no tricks - just prices our customers can trust, and quality they can depend on."

Mr Hurley noted that whilst the company has established stores in nearly 800 UK towns and cities over 35 years, numerous communities still lack nearby access to an Aldi outlet.
The retailer's financial results for the year ending December 2024 demonstrated robust performance with revenues reaching £18.1billion, representing growth from £17.9billion in the previous year.
Recent market data indicates the discounter's sales momentum has continued into 2025, with its market share climbing to 10.8 per cent.
In a significant milestone earlier this year, the company surpassed Asda to claim the position of Britain's third-largest grocer when measured by food and beverage sales value.

This latest news from the supermarket chain comes after today's inflation figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which found the consumer price index (CPI) rate remained at 3.8 per cent for August 2025.
However, Food and non-alcoholic drinks price rises jumped from 4.9 per cent to 5.1 per cent, far higher than the headline rate and other measures of inflation.
Data from PwC's Store Opening and Closing report reveals that 2024 recorded the second-lowest number of chain store closures in a decade, with 12,804 shops shutting their doors - equivalent to 35 daily closures.
This represents an improvement from previous years, with only 2022 seeing fewer closures. New store openings averaged 25 per day, showing a recovery from pandemic levels though remaining below the mid-2010s peak of 34 daily openings.
