As Britons prepare to mark VE Day, GB News asks its members if you trust future generations to always remember the sacrifice of our World War Two heroes.
The UK lost 384,000 soldiers in combat between 1939 and 1945, with a civilian death toll of 70,000.
Despite so many paying the ultimate sacrifice, a shocking new poll revealed two-thirds of 18 to 24-year-olds were unable to identify what happened on VE Day.
The poll, carried out by More in Common, found young people struggled to identify May 8 as the date when Nazi Germany surrendered.
While 83 per cent of those over the age of 65 gave us the correct answer, the figure fell to just 32 per cent among those aged between 18-24.
Experts have not been particularly shocked by the findings but it does spell trouble for those wanting to pay tribute to the sacrifice made by so many during the Second World War.
