Weight loss is a widespread goal across Britain, but interest tends to peak around January.
Without the right approach, however, even the hardest efforts can fall flat, as content creator Christina Nicole discovered during her own fitness journey.
The influencer, known online as skinnygirlmillionaire, recently shared a video revealing the habits that were secretly sabotaging her progress.
She told her followers: "I am the skinniest that I've ever been in my entire life at 9st 10lb but I used to be much bigger than that. I'm going to tell you all of the things that kept me big."

Her first revelation might surprise those who think eating healthily is always the answer, as Christina explained that calorie counting trumps everything else when it comes to shedding pounds.
"I used to order a smoothie, thinking I was being so skinny and so healthy, but in reality, it was 800 calories, and I should have just had a burger or something," she said.
The content creator's second habit involved her gym routine, which she devoted to strenuous workouts, despite living a largely inactive life outside those sessions.
She noted: "If you're only active three to four hours a week while you're only at the gym, then it's really not going to help you too much."
Christina's third habit was her constant grazing throughout the day - whether she felt hungry or not.
"Choosing to snack all of the time instead of having real, full meals made me feel like I was eating so little," she reflected. "But in the end, those handfuls of popcorn, or handfuls of this and that, those things add up."
Christina's fourth stumbling block came when dining out, as she always felt compelled to choose the most indulgent dish available.
She said: "I did that because I didn't want to waste my time or money on getting something mid."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Since shifting her priorities, Christina feels she no longer feels "gross, bloated and disgusting" after meals, proving that small changes can make all the difference.
She's also learnt that calories matter far more than whether food appears healthy on the surface.

And while she still maintains nutritious eating habits, she has learned to adjust her meals so they're not packed with hidden calories.
The content creator also stressed that enjoying indulgent foods isn't off the table entirely, noting: "It doesn't mean you can't eat those things, but I feel like that shouldn't be your only motive with food."
