Waitrose has issued an urgent recall for two of its premium bottled water products over fears they may contain dangerous glass shards.
The supermarket chain alerted customers through the Food Standards Agency on December 30.
A spokesman warned 750ml bottles of Waitrose No1 Deeside Mineral Water and Waitrose No1 Deeside Sparkling Water could pose a serious injury risk.
The FSA stated "the product may contain glass which may cause injury and makes it unsafe to drink".
Waitrose said it was recalling the affected bottles as a precautionary measure and apologised to customers.
The Scottish premium water range has been pulled from shelves with immediate effect.
The recall covers specific batch codes that customers should check carefully before consuming any remaining bottles.
For the still mineral water, affected batches are NOV 2027 28, DEC 2027 01, DEC 2027 02, DEC 2027 10, DEC 2027 11 and DEC 2027 16, all with best-before dates in November and December 2027.

The sparkling variety has five batch codes included in the recall: DEC 2027 01, DEC 2027 03, DEC 2027 12, DEC 2027 15 and DEC 2027 25, each carrying a December 2027 best-before date.
Both products come in 750ml glass bottles and form part of the retailer's upmarket No1 range, which sources its water from Royal Deeside in Scotland.
The FSA emphasised that glass fragments could be present when opening the bottles, creating a potential hazard for anyone who drinks from them.
Customers who have purchased either product are being strongly advised not to consume the water under any circumstances.
