Staying active, drinking water, and de-stressing may be the ultimate anti-ageing hacks

Maintaining a youthful appearance can be partly attributed to good genes. However, the right diet, skin and hair care practices, exercises, and lifestyle strategies can also make a big difference.

GB News spoke exclusively to a woman in her 40s about her three habits for anti-ageing success. At 45, people believe she could be more than a decade younger.

Rasheda Williams stated: "I work with teens and young adults, and they are shocked when they learn I'm 45. Many think I'm between 30 and 35."

While she has no anti-ageing "secrets" per se, she said: "It's all about staying active and committing to self-care."

The quadragenarian revealed that her "top three" strategies are movement, hydration, and stressing less.

"Staying physically active is important," she said. "For me, it's dancing and pilates."

Pilates is hailed as an excellent anti-ageing activity, as it makes the body more toned and targets back and joint pain, which is often associated with ageing.

Women who look youthful into their 40s, 50s and beyond often credit this to an excellent exercise regimen.

Indeed, one 48-year-old said she looks "10 years younger" thanks to a healthy habit - try it and your body will thank you.

Decades older but still feeling fabulous, a 70-year-old said she has never looked better thanks to a physical habit that transformed her appearance.

Everybody knows that exercise is great for your health and waistline, but an overlooked benefit of an active lifestyle is glowing, youthful skin.

The experts at Healthspan stated: "Regular exercise can help your skin look younger for longer. It helps improve your circulation, pumping more blood and oxygen to your skin cells to keep them healthy and resilient."

Rasheeda also ensures she drinks enough water throughout the day, stating: "We feel and look younger when our insides and outsides are hydrated. Drink water to avoid dehydration - and moisturise."

According to the experts at Sound Plastic Surgery, drinking more water directly correlates to a "younger" appearance.

Indeed, they stated: "As it turns out, one of the best-kept secrets for healthier, younger-looking skin is as easy to find as turning the tap.

"Water makes up a large percentage of your body weight, and when you don’t drink enough of it, it shows in your skin. Without enough water, your skin looks dull and prematurely aged."

Finally, the youthful 45-year-old tries to maintain a state of "peace" when she can. "When I'm stressed, I look older," she explained.

"The key to feeling vibrant is keeping stress to a minimum. Relax, rest, and relax some more."

The skin gurus at Dermalogica confirmed that stress can have a negative impact on skin health.

"When we experience chronic, continual stress, there's an increase in hormones that directly impact the skin," they explained.

"We experience an increase in breakout activity, hyperpigmentation, sensitivity and premature skin ageing."
