Losing hair can be a worrying and understandable cause for concern for anyone and everyone. Whether it’s down to genetics or lifestyle changes, however, it is possible to make amendments to increase your chances of thickening your locks.
Australian TikToker Annabelle Ronnfeldt, who goes by @annabelleronnfeldt on TikTok, shared an array of tips for those keen to regrow their hair after experiencing significant loss.
Previously, the hair guru used to enjoy "very thick" and "very long hair" until, over the past 18 months, she was left devastated after around 70 per cent of her hair fell out.
She became increasingly worried because she found her locks were "coming out in clumps" and every time she washed her hair, she came out with "fistfuls of hair".

When she noticed the "bald patches" appearing at the front and at the bottom of her scalp, she would end up "crying every time she came out of the shower".
"I just didn’t know what to do," she lamented, reflecting on her own personal hair journey.
Now, with her hair recuperating and recovering from the significant loss, she has flocked to TikTok to share her top tips on how she filled in her bald patches, as well as minimising loss - divulging followers in the way she brushes her mane.

"When I brush, I always start from the ends and then work up instead of just pulling straight down," she shared. "This will help prevent breakage.
"Then, when I get out of the shower, and if I have to brush my wet hair I will use a wide-toothed comb because obviously your hair is most fragile when it is wet."
The same advice has been shared by experts at professional hair care company Kérastase. They similarly recommended a number of brushing tips to keep your bountiful locks luscious without turning into a tangled mess.

Kérastase’s top six tips for brushing
- Comb before washing your hair.
- Avoid combing wet hair.
- Avoid forcefully combing tangled hair
- Don’t over-comb
- Choose the right brush, such as a wide-toothed wooden comb
- Clean your brush regularly
When you notice the first signs of hair loss, it is important to try and find the underlying cause, Annabelle advised.
In her case, she found problems with her gut microbiome, so she worked with doctors to come up with a plan to regrow her hair by taking specific supplements to counteract deficiencies, for example.
However, she credited a combination of internal and external changes for her overall transformation.
