Catching rays is vital for plant growth, which makes sunny June the perfect time to cultivate a glorious garden.
But according to green-thumbed Courtney Sixx, there's a way to get it right - and a way to get it wrong.
Courtney, also known as How2Girl, founded DIY floral arrangements company Bouquet Box, so she knows a thing or two about flowers.
"I always recommend planting British summer classics like dahlias, cosmos, and marigolds this month," she told GB News.
"Not only are they beautiful and bee-friendly, but they also last a long time in arrangements, which is something I love as a floral designer."
As June unfolds, now is also the time to "get your hands dirty and get immersed in the soil".

Courtney explained: "With longer days and warmer temperatures, your garden is primed for transformation."
For a yard that "thrives" this summer, the gardening enthusiast stressed the importance of feeding your soil. "It is literally starving after spring growth," she warned.
Courtney added: "A well-reviewed organic compost, coffee grounds, or fish emulsion does wonders.
Another important task for June is deadheading your spring blooms to encourage fresh growth.
The expert did provide a word of warning, though: "Don't forget to prune those overzealous shrubs."
Over the next 30 days, Britons should also make the most of this "perfect time to sow heat-loving crops" - think runner beans, courgettes, and salad greens.
"If you're short on space, containers work beautifully," she advised.
It's clear that Courtney is a big fan of gardening during this spring-summer hybrid month. However, it's possible to get it wrong if you aren't careful.

Biggest mistake to avoid? "Overwatering," the expert revealed. "It's tempting, but roots rot fast in soggy soil. Instead, water deeply but less frequently."
Courtney concluded: "Whether you're planting for pollinators or creating an alfresco floral moment for summer soirées, June is the time to be bold in the garden. Trust me, your green thumb and blooms, too, will thank you."
The Royal Horticultural Society also weighed in on the most important gardening jobs for June.
Green-thumbed Britons might want to plant up summer hanging baskets and containers, use water wisely to keep plants thriving, and pinch out the sideshoots on tomatoes.
