A cult-favourite crisp flavour will give shoppers a hit of nostalgia as it makes a triumphant return

Discos' iconic salt and vinegar flavour was last seen on shelves in 2019 and 2020, but after nearly five years, the savoury snack is making a victorious comeback.

Manufactured by the same makers as McCoy’s and Space Raiders, the zingy-flavoured disc-shaped crisps are super crunchy and pack a lot of flavour.

Fans were devastated when the savoury snack was axed at supermarkets due to dwindling demand for the product.

But the flavour will soon be available in multipacks of six 25.5 gram bags, retailing at £1.50 each in B&M, Asda and Sainsbury’s from mid-April. Tesco and Farmfoods will also stock the savoury snack.

The savoury snack had long been a cherished addition to meals, with the brand’s smokey flavour also proving a huge hit with Britons.

Unfortunately, that crisp flavour was discontinued in 2015 and KP Snacks have given no signs of reviving it since then.

“Bacon-flavoured discos crisps are something else! Bravo to Mr Crisp,” one person said, while another added: “Bacon-flavoured discos crisps are so addictive, already had two packs and want about 166,325 more.”

A third commentator added: “Bacon-flavoured discos are the nicest ever.”

Shoppers rushed to social media to voice their upset when news emerged that the crisps would no longer be in supermarkets.

A customer reached out to the crisps manufacturer KP Snacks on X, writing: “What happened to bacon-flavoured Discos and do you ever plan on bringing them back?"

A spokesperson responded: “Unfortunately the popularity of this snack has been on a downward trend for a while, therefore, sadly production was no longer commercially viable and the product had to be discontinued.

“We have no plans in producing these again in the near future. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.”

It comes months after Aldi announced the return of its “unique garlic bread crisps are back by popular demand” in February.

The supermarket said it “merged two popular foods - garlic bread and crisps - to create a tasty treat”.

A Twitter user said: “They’re amazing. Had them last year and it looks like they’ve brought them back.”

Taking to Facebook, another fan wrote: “I need these plants.”

A third person quipped: “I think if I tried these I’d be obsessed and would need to buy every pack they have.”

The popular flavour packs a delicious flavour of smokey garlic paired with a hearty crunch of the supermarket's Specially Selected crinkle cut style crisp. The snack was brought back as a Specialbuy, meaning customers could only buy the crisps while stocks last.
