The supermarket will bring its 'iconic' Scottish lamb to England this festive season

Scottish lamb that's usually only found north of the border is making its way to English M&S stores just in time for Christmas.

The retailer has announced that the premium meat will be available across England for the festive season, with supplies coming from farmers like Scott Lambie.

The fourth-generation farmer runs his family's operation in Perthshire's Strathearn Valley, where they've been producing quality lamb for generations.

A proper family affair, the Lambies maintain their traditional farming methods while consistently upholding the exacting standards that Marks & Spencer customers have come to expect from Scottish produce.

The Lambie farm is home to more than 2,000 breeding ewes, alongside 150 breeding cattle in a system where sheep and cattle farming work hand in hand.

The flock features traditional Scottish breeds, including Scotch Blackface, Scotch Mules, and Texel crosses.

What makes this lamb special is how it's raised; the sheep graze on natural Scottish pastures with hardly any additional feed needed.

It's this grass-fed approach that gives the meat its distinctive flavour and quality that Scottish customers enjoy all year round.

M&S emphasised that the Lambie family's commitment to maintaining high standards means their lamb consistently meets the supermarket's "premium" requirements.

Sharing his thoughts on the expansion, Mr Lambie stated: "We've been farming this land for generations. Our lamb is almost entirely grass-fed and finished to meet the high standards customers expect.

"In the lead up to Christmas, supplying M&S means our lamb will now reach tables across England, not just here in Scotland, where it's always been a staple."

Highlighting how proud he is of his family's offerings, the farmer added: "Producing lamb to these exacting standards is a challenge, but the results are worth it when you hear how much customers enjoy the taste and quality."

English shoppers can get their hands on this Scottish lamb in M&S stores until January 2026, giving them plenty of time to enjoy it beyond just Christmas dinner.

M&S explained: "Customers in Scotland can enjoy the rich flavour and trusted quality of Scottish lamb from M&S all year round, while customers in England can bring the taste of Scotland to their festive table with Scottish lamb available in stores until January 2026, perfect for Christmas dinner and winter hosting."

This Christmas, M&S celebrated the magic of festive feasting with a "glittering" new advert.
