The 'intriguing and savoury delight' lands in stores this week

In a bold move that's sure to divide the nation, KFC has unveiled its latest culinary creation that will be sure to shock the masses.

The fast-food giant has partnered with artisanal ice cream makers Hackney Gelato to transform its iconic gravy into a savoury frozen treat.

The unconventional dessert features rich notes of peppercorn and, of course, chicken in its Gravy Gelato.

For those brave enough to blur the line between dinner and dessert, this limited-edition offering promises the unmistakable bold taste of KFC's legendary gravy combined with traditional Italian gelato craftsmanship.

The 460ml tubs will be available exclusively on the KFC Shop for £5.50 starting May 15 at 1pm. All proceeds from sales will support the KFC Youth Foundation, which supports young people across the UK.

KFC recommends letting the gelato sit out of the freezer for 15 minutes before serving for "extra creamy goodness".

The company cheekily notes that while some fans have dipped, dunked and even drunk their gravy straight from the pot, this new creation takes gravy obsession to unprecedented heights.

Brand manager at KFC Phoebe Syms said: "With this collaboration, we've taken the nation's gravy obsession to the next level to give the people what they never knew they needed."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

The innovative offering comes as KFC acknowledges the depth of British consumers' love for their signature gravy.

The company has observed fans who have not only enjoyed it with their meals but some who have reportedly "bathed in it (no cap)". This frozen innovation has created yet another way for devoted gravy enthusiasts to enjoy their favourite flavour.

CEO at Hackney Gelato Tom Lister commented: "We're no strangers to pushing flavour boundaries, but gravy? This is a first for Hackney Gelato."

He added: "When KFC asked if we could do this, it took some convincing of Enrico and our chefs, but as ever they stepped up and delivered - we can't wait for fans to try this intriguing and savoury delight."
