British drivers could get their hands on a used Tesla for a fraction of the price of a new model

Used Tesla prices have plummeted across all models in the UK market, with each vehicle type experiencing more than a 30 per cent decrease between May 2023 and April 2025.

The dramatic price drops have made the electric vehicles significantly more accessible to British buyers, with some models now available at nearly half their price from two years ago.

New sales data reveals that Tesla's entire range - Models Y, X, 3 and S - has seen substantial depreciation in the second-hand market.

The trend shows no signs of reversing, with prices continuing their downward trajectory through the first four months of 2025.

This represents a significant shift in the used electric vehicle market, where Teslas had previously maintained stronger residual values compared to many competitors.

In a milestone for the brand, the Tesla Model 3 has fallen below the £20,000 mark for the first time in the UK used car market.

April 2025 saw the average last listed price for a used Model 3 drop to £19,842, representing a substantial decrease of £11,222 (36 per cent) compared to May 2023.

The Model 3 has continued its price decline throughout 2025, with a 5.6 per cent (£1,759) reduction since January alone.

This price point makes the Model 3 significantly more accessible to British motorists looking to enter the electric vehicle market.

Alastair Campbell of MarketCheck UK commented: "It is becoming increasingly more affordable to buy a used Tesla in the UK. Prices may only continue to drop as owners choose to upgrade."

He confirmed that the company would continue to monitor trends in the UK used car market as they develop in the coming months.

The Model Y has experienced the most dramatic price decline of all Tesla models, with the average last listed price falling by 36.4 per cent from £47,068 in May 2023 to £29,938 in April 2025.

This represents a staggering reduction of £17,130 over the two-year period, with a further drop of £2,785 (5.9 per cent) in the first four months of 2025 alone.

Despite significant price reductions, the Model X remains the most expensive used Tesla in the UK market.

The average last-listed price for a Model X has fallen by more than £17,500 (33.7 per cent) from almost £52,000 in May 2023 to £34,415 last month.

Meanwhile, the Model S has seen the largest price drop so far this year, with the average cost falling by £3,147 in the first four months of 2025, from £26,983 in January to £23,447 in April.
