Drivers across the UK have seen petrol prices soar above the previous peak as a result of the Iran war, with warnings that costs could jump further.
The latest data from RAC Fuel Watch shows that drivers are paying an average of 158.52p per litre for petrol and 185.92p for diesel.
This is a higher price than the costs seen on April 15 when prices last peaked since the start of tensions in the Middle East began at the end of February.
Since the start of the war, drivers have seen prices jump by 25.7p per litre for petrol and a staggering 43.5p rise for diesel vehicle owners.
Experts have warned that this could have disastrous consequences for motorists travelling around the UK for the long bank holiday weekend and half-term.
Diesel drivers can breathe a slight sigh of relief as prices continue to fall by around 0.23p a day, although this could change in the coming days and weeks.
Although US President Donald Trump has avoided launching a fresh barrage of strikes on Iran, fears remain that a new wave of conflict could start, sending oil prices soaring once more.
Simon Williams, head of policy at the RAC, said: "RAC analysis of wholesale fuel data unfortunately indicates that unleaded is now likely to increase to at least 160p a litre in the coming weeks, unless there's a dramatic and sustained drop in the price of oil which has been above $100 (£75) a barrel since late April.

"It's a more positive outlook for diesel as the wholesale price has reduced significantly since it peaked in early April.
"While the price of diesel at the pump has fallen nearly 6p to 185.92p - its lowest price since the start of last month - it should really be much lower than it is."
Mr Williams called on retailers across the country to reflect wholesale fuel costs and pass savings onto drivers when they visit the pumps.
Data from the Government's Fuel Finder tool shows that some forecourts are charging more than £2 per litre for diesel and more than 190p for petrol.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Petrol and diesel prices peaked on April 15 during the most recent fuel cost crisis | GETTYIt comes as reports suggest that Chancellor Rachel Reeves will unveil measures to protect motorists from high prices by axing plans to phase out the 5p fuel duty cut.
Current plans state that the Government will reverse the 5p cut by 1p in September, 2p in December and a final 2p in March 2027, although this is expected to be ditched by Labour.
The Treasury said it would not comment on tax matters, although Mr Williams said such a change would be "a relief for drivers".
GB News has collated the most expensive petrol and diesel prices across the UK over the last week using the Government's Fuel Finder scheme.

The fuel duty freeze will end in September and begin rising over the following months, unless the Chancellor reverses the move this week
