Many supermarkets will be closing their forecourts on Christmas Day

Drivers are being warned of potential petrol station chaos over the coming days and weeks as some forecourts shut their doors for the Christmas break.

With millions of drivers expected to travel to friends and family for Christmas and New Year's celebrations, they could find themselves in trouble as forecourts close for the festive period.

To help drivers over the coming days and weeks, GB News has compiled the operating hours of the most popular supermarkets and major fuel retailers.

Tesco

As with other major supermarkets and retailers, operating hours at Tesco stores will vary over the Christmas and New Year's period.

Drivers are advised to check the opening times of their local stores and petrol filling stations on Tesco's store locator tool.

All Tesco stores and petrol filling stations will be closed on Christmas Day.
