Fuel prices have fallen for the second consecutive month, with both petrol and diesel dropping by 2p per litre in April, according to new data.
The average price of petrol across the UK decreased from 136.1p to 134.1p, while diesel fell from 142.6p to 140.6p.
Despite these reductions, the RAC believes drivers should be seeing even lower prices at the pumps.
The motoring organisation has pointed out that oil traded significantly below $70 for the entire month of April, compared to March when it was consistently above this level.

Experts state that drivers should be seeing greater savings at filling stations

The data, from RAC Fuel Watch, suggests there is room for further price cuts at forecourts nationwide.
Based on current wholesale costs, the RAC believes average prices for both fuels should be around 4p lower than they are today - approximately 130p for petrol and 136p for diesel.
This means drivers are losing out by more than £2 every time they fill up their vehicles.
A full tank of petrol for a typical family car with a 55-litre tank now costs just under £74, while the diesel equivalent comes to £77.34.
The price difference represents a significant cost to motorists who rely on their vehicles for daily transport, especially as many households continue to manage tight budgets.
RAC head of policy Simon Williams commented on the new research and expressed mixed feelings about the price reductions.
"On one hand, it's good news prices at the pumps fell for the second straight month, but on the other it's disappointing that retailers didn't drop their prices further considering how low oil and wholesale prices continue to be," he said.
Williams called on major retailers to implement "further significant forecourt cuts soon."
Drivers in Northern Ireland benefit from cheaper petrol and diesel prices compared to the rest of the UK
PAHe noted that some retailers are already offering competitive prices at certain locations. The expert said: "Both Asda and Sainsbury's are selling unleaded for under 125p a litre in Ipswich."
The RAC also questioned whether the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) would investigate current fuel pricing.
Drivers in Northern Ireland continue to enjoy significantly lower fuel prices compared to the rest of the UK, as a litre of petrol averages at 128.8p, while diesel costs around 133.7p.
This represents a saving of 5.3p per litre on petrol and 6.9p on diesel compared to UK averages. For motorists filling up a standard tank, this equates to nearly £3 saved on unleaded and almost £4 on diesel.
