Drivers will not need to pay for any repairs that their cars may need

Drivers are being warned of major safety concerns that could impact their vehicles and increase their likelihood of being injured in the event of an accident.

Volkswagen, Volvo and some of the world's most premium brands have been forced to issue recalls for software issues that can cause further problems for motorists, passengers and other road users.

GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about.

American drivers could be more at risk of being involved in an accident because the rearview camera image may not display properly when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

Since the 413,000 impacted vehicles would not adhere to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 (Rear Visibility), Volvo said it would fix the vehicles with an over-the-air software update.

The recall impacts certain 2021-2025 XC40, 2022 V90, 2022-2024 C40BEV, 2022-2025 S90, V90CC, XC60, 2023-2025 S60, V60, V60CC, XC90, and 2025 EC40, and EX40 vehicles.

Volkswagen of America has announced a recall of 356,649 Audi vehicles over a software issue where the rearview camera image may not display.

Documents filed with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) state that owner notification letters will be sent out in mid-February.

Vehicles produced between 2019 and 2026 are impacted, including the following models: Audi A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8, E-tron, S6, S7, RS 6 Avant, S8, SQ7, RS7, SQ8, RS Q8, A6 Allroad, RS E-tron GT, E-tron GT and E-tron Sportback.

Volkswagen of America is also recalling certain 2025 SQ6 E-Tron, SQ6 Sportback E-Tron, Q6 Sportback E-Tron, A6, A5, A6 Sportback E-Tron, Q6 E-Tron, S5, and S6 Sportback E-Tron vehicles for a separate issue.

The automatic locking retractor may fail to engage when a child seat is installed using the seat belt in almost 28,000 vehicles.

Not only could this increase the risk of injury during a crash, but it also falls foul of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208 and 209.

The NHTSA stated that dealers will inspect and replace the right and left rear seat belt assembly as necessary, free of charge.

Owners of certain 2019-2025 Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, 2020-2025 911, Taycan, 2024-2025 Panamera, and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid vehicles are impacted by a fresh recall.

More than 173,000 supercars are impacted by a rearview camera issue when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

Dealers will initially update the driver assistance software, with notification letters being sent once a final remedy is available.

Lamborghini

Over 10,000 Lamborghini Urus models from production years between 2019 and 2024 could also suffer from a rearview camera issue.

The NHTSA recall outlines that a software error may deactivate the rearview camera image, resulting in the image not displaying at all.
