One of the UK's most popular car brands has announced it will be culling one of its models from the UK market this month.
In a new statement, Citroen has announced it will end production of its C5 X model in the UK at the end of May 2025.
The quirky car, which blends fastback, tourer and estate styling, has only been on sale for three years.
Despite this, the French manufacturer has decided to discontinue the model due to poor sales performance.

The C5 X will not be replaced in Citroen's lineup, with the new C5 Aircross set to become the brand's flagship model.
The C5 X sat at the top of Citroen's range, competing with models like the Peugeot 408 and Skoda Superb Estate.
It also aimed to rival premium vehicles such as the BMW 3 Series Touring and Volvo V60. With prices starting from £31,355, the C5 X significantly undercut these competitors.
However, this competitive pricing and its unique multi-purpose character weren't enough to attract sufficient buyers across European markets.

Citroen CEO Thierry Koskas explained the decision, saying: "It [the D-segment] is a tiny segment and as soon as you go into it you go [up against] premium brands and mainstream brands.
"So, I'm not sure in the future we will have anything to do with that [the D-segment]," he told the PA news agency.
Caroline Malleus, director of product and strategy for Citroen, added further insight into the decision from the Stellantis-owned brand.
She said: "This kind of car was not a success for us. We have found that people in this sector are looking for more luxury and for premium brands."
The French manufacturer recognised that badge prestige often outweighs price advantages in this market category.
Citroen now offers a lineup where all models have pure-electric variants, although the C5 X was not engineered to accommodate such a powertrain.
Unlike its predecessor, the C5 Aircross is a more conventional SUV offering that comes in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure-electric forms.
A Citroen UK spokesperson confirmed that right-hand drive production of the C5 X will conclude at the end of May 2025.
