A total of 35 vehicles are now eligible for Labour's Electric Car Grant, with millions of British drivers able to save thousands of pounds off the total price of a new electric vehicle.
The latest update from the Government has added seven new vehicles to the highly anticipated £650million Electric Car Grant scheme, which was announced in July.
New models from Toyota, Vauxhall, Skoda and more are now eligible for the Electric Car Grant under the £1,500 eligibility criteria.
It comes less than a week after the first two electric models were unveiled for the maximum £3,750 grant, namely the Ford Puma Gen-E and the Ford e-Tourneo Courier.

| TOYOTATransport Secretary Heidi Alexander praised the continued rollout of new EVs eligible for the incentive scheme, noting that it was helping to slash prices for consumers.
The Labour MP for Swindon South continued: "By cutting upfront costs and boosting our charging infrastructure, we're helping more people become EV owners, backing industry, and delivering on our promise to make the UK a clean energy superpower."
It comes in a decisive month for the new vehicle market as drivers look to get their hands on the latest models with the new "75" number plate.
The introduction of new number plate identifiers in March and September always contributes to a massive spike in sales, especially when offered alongside the grant.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The Department for Transport has confirmed that other vehicles will become eligible for the Electric Car Grant in the near future as applications are reviewed and eligibility criteria are met.
RAC head of policy Simon Williams said the rollout of 35 models for the grant in just seven weeks has been overwhelmingly positive and will help more drivers switch to an electric vehicle.
The expert also noted that the announcement was "doubly positive" since manufacturers were incentivised to produce more zero emission vehicles, but also made affordable models even cheaper.
Similarly, John Veichmanis, CEO at Carwow Group, said the latest update was "another big step" to making EVs more accessible to motorists. He added: "By extending the Electric Car Grant to more popular models, the Government is giving families greater choice and confidence as many consider the switch to electric."
