Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it will be extending its production shutdown further following a devastating cyber attack that has left the iconic British brand reeling.
In its latest statement, Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that it informed colleagues, suppliers and partners that the pause in production will be extended until Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
It clarified that the investigation was still ongoing after a cyber attack at the start of September, which had caused a number of serious IT issues and forced the pause in production at many of its plants.
Workers at its Halewood, Solihull and Wolverhampton factories have previously been told to stay at home after the cyber attack, with this order now being extended.

The statement from JLR read: "Today we have informed colleagues, suppliers and partners that we have extended the current pause in our production until Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
"We have taken this decision as our forensic investigation of the cyber incident continues, and as we consider the different stages of the controlled restart of our global operations, which will take time.
"We are very sorry for the continued disruption this incident is causing and we will continue to update as the investigation progresses."
Jaguar Land Rover confirmed last week that the cyber attack had resulted in the hackers accessing some data.
Staff at JLR's Halewood Plant were told to go home earlier this month
| PAJLR said it was working "around the clock" with third-party cybersecurity specialists to restart its global operations.
It added that it was informing the relevant regulators, with the National Cyber Security Centre announcing that it was providing support to the automaker.
A spokesperson said: “All organisations are urged to make use of the NCSC's free guidance, services and tools to help reduce the chances of a cyber attack and bolster their resilience in the face of online threats."
The Unite union has called on the Government to take action to support the JLR supply chain after warning that some jobs could be at risk.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Speaking last week, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said ministers should act fast to "introduce a furlough scheme" to ensure vital jobs and skills are not lost while the supply chain recovers from the cyber attack.
Unite national officer Des Quinn added: "Directly employed JLR workers are not at risk of losing their jobs and Unite is working with the company to ensure that staff receive their wages while the company recovers its operations."
An English-speaking hacking collective has claimed responsibility for the cyber attack, posting screenshots which appeared to show compromised information from JLR.
Some of the hackers have also claimed responsibility for the attack that devastated Marks and Spencer for months, and reportedly cost the brand an estimated £300million in lost profits.
