Electric car drivers are set to benefit from a massive investment programme which will see 1,000 new EV chargers installed.
Barnet Council has launched an ambitious programme to install up to 1,000 new on-street electric vehicle charge points throughout the borough.
The first 500 charge points are currently being installed, with completion expected within the next three months.
The remaining half will be rolled out over the following three years, with the major expansion increasing Barnet's total EV charging infrastructure to 2,500 charge points.

Around 1,000 EV chargers will be installed across the borough

The initiative aims to support local residents who lack private driveways and rely on on-street parking to charge their EVs.
The new charge points will be strategically placed in streets and neighbourhoods experiencing rising demand for electric vehicle charging facilities.
The project has secured nearly £800,000 in Government funding through the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles' On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS), covering 60 per cent of the total cost.
The remaining 40 per cent will be funded by one of the UK's largest charge point operators, char.gy.
Councillor Alan Schneiderman, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change, welcomed the development, saying: "Lots more electric vehicle charge points is great news for Barnet residents.
"It's another step in the right direction as we move towards becoming a net zero borough by 2042."
"We know that sustainable, zero emissions vehicles will play a key role in achieving our goals as we work with residents and partners to make Barnet a cleaner, greener borough for all."
The partnership with char.gy, which currently operates nearly 4,000 public charge points across the UK, represents one of the company's most ambitious borough-wide installations to date.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Barnet currently leads all London boroughs in recorded public charging energy demand, with 143 MWh.
The expansion will help meet growing demand in the borough and strengthen Barnet's position as a leader in London's transition to electric vehicles.
The charge points will be integrated into existing lampposts, minimising disruption and avoiding pavement clutter, with installations taking under two hours to complete.
Each unit provides up to 5kW in energy and will operate on a Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin tariff.
The cost of the 1,000 new electric vehicle charging points will be split between the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme and char.gy

Residents will be able to benefit from further savings through char.gy's Night Tariff, which offers off-peak electricity rates.
John Lewis, CEO at char.gy, said: "Barnet is showing real leadership with this rollout - making it easier for people to make the switch to electric by ensuring charging is available right outside their homes.
"We're excited to be delivering one of our largest borough-wide installations yet and to bring our experience to the streets of Barnet.
"By working closely with councils like this, we're making EV charging simple, fair, and accessible to all."
