Chinese brands have made sales history in the UK as drivers continue to move away from traditional Western brands in search of more affordable prices and better in-car technology.
New data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed that the Jaecoo 7 Super Hybrid System was the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in August.
It registered 1,367 new registrations, placing as the sixth best-selling vehicle of last month, and even beating the likes of the Audi A3, Vauxhall Corsa and Mini Cooper.
This has taken the brand house of Omoda and Jaecoo to a staggering 2.96 per cent of the market share for August, despite only recently launching.

Jaecoo was only launched in January and has quickly broken records with brand awareness soaring to 15 per cent, while the Jaecoo 7 model sold more than 10,000 cars within months of its launch.
The Jaecoo 7 SHS is priced at £35,165 and comes equipped with self-charging hybrid technology, an impressive 745-mile range and ultra-low emissions of just 23g/km.
Gary Lan, CEO of Jaecoo UK, said: "This latest accolade for the JAECOO 7 SHS just goes to show the power of our product, our team and dealer network.
"Recognition like this further reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality vehicles that meet the needs of drivers across the UK; with powertrains that plug into the specific market and needs of our customers, too."
In August alone, Jaecoo was bolstered by sales of the 7 SHS with a market share of 1.65 per cent, while Omoda's offering resulted in almost 1,100 sales and a combined market share of 2.96 per cent.
This year, Jaecoo has registered 11,681 vehicles for a market share of 0.92 per cent, beating out other established brands like Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Fiat and Lexus.
Sister company Omoda has also registered an impressive 9,900 vehicles, marking an incredible 21,421 per cent growth compared to the same time last year.
The accelerated rollout is being backed by parent company Chery, which has also launched in recent days, and its 81-strong UK-wide dealer network.
