One of the world's largest vehicle manufacturers is finally launching in the UK later this year as Chinese brands continue to make a splash across the globe.
Chery International confirmed today that it would be entering the UK market under the Chery name this summer.
The Wuhu-based brand said it would launch with two SUVs, which are both "optimised" for the local UK market through vehicle specification and price.
While it did not give a definitive date, Chery said the vehicles would be on sale in the coming months through a dealer network that will operate nationwide.

Chery is already one of the best-selling car brands around the world, selling 2.6 million vehicles in 2024, representing a 38.4 per cent jump in new registrations.
Its revenues jumped by more than 45 per cent to 480 billion yuan (£49billion), as it reclaimed its title as China's biggest car exporter, with more than 1.14 million vehicles.
Analysts have predicted that Chery will sell more than three million vehicles this year, especially as it continues its expansion into new key markets, like the UK.
Gary Lan, CEO of Chery UK, in addition to Omoda and Jaecoo, praised the launch of Chery in the UK over the coming months, saying it would offer high-end products for interested drivers.
He said: "Chery's introduction to the UK market this summer not only shows Chery's commitment to growth, but also reflects our confidence in the UK automotive sector, and the appeal of our vehicles to local buyers.
"Expect the same innovation, style, technology focus, and exceptional value."
While the Chery brand may be unfamiliar to drivers in the UK, the manufacturer has already made a leap into the market, with two of its brands already launching.
Omoda, which was introduced to the UK market in August 2024, and Jaecoo, which came in January 2025, have quickly become some of the fastest-growing brands in the UK.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
As of June, the combined market share of Omoda and Jaecoo has reached two per cent of new sales, despite being on the market for less than a year.
Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has revealed that Jaecoo has sold 8,399 vehicles, while Omoda has registered 6,941 new cars.
These impressive sales totals are already higher than certain established brands, including Alfa Romeo (1,308), Fiat (6,136), Jaguar (1,725) and Subaru (1,261).
The first model from Chery will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week before going on sale across the UK in the summer.

Farrell Hsu, UK Country Director of Chery UK, said: "The Chery brand is recognised globally as a trusted choice for families, fleets, and anyone who values cabin space, long range, and quality at a cost-effective price.
"We've been working behind the scenes, learning from our experience with other Chery International-derived brands in the UK, and have taken this time to refine and refresh our approach to this important market."
Hsu noted that Chery would share further information about the brand's UK launch "soon" as it prepares to exhibit at the Goodwood festival.
Chery has been the largest exporter of vehicles from China for the last 22 years, with the brand outlining that it could make use of dealers across the UK that are already selling Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles.
