The E-Ray will include the mid-engine design of the eighth-generation Corvette, with the sports car aiming to improve performance and efficiency.

It comes equipped with a 6.2L LT2 Small Block V8, putting 482 horsepower (354 kW) and 452.1 lb-ft (613 Nm) of torque to the rear axle.

In total, the E-Ray produces 643 horsepower from the electric motor and Small Block V8 engine.

It is also the quickest production Corvette to grace UK roads, with acceleration from zero to 62mph in a staggering 2.9 seconds.

Chevrolet said the new Corvette would be able to turn heads "from Knightsbridge to the North Coast 500" with its sleek design and impressive performance capabilities.

Stealth Mode allows the E-Ray to adapt to all environments, including four miles of quiet driving when in neighbourhoods, up to a limit of 44mph.

From this point, the engine will automatically engage, or if additional torque is requested by the driver, or the battery pack is depleted.

It also comes equipped with the best technology available for motorists to enjoy the drive, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system and a video recorder.
