Boxing Day sales kick off in stores across the UK

Boxing Day is one of the best times of the year to grab a bargain but gone are the days when retailers would open in the early hours.

GB News looks at what stores will open and their opening hours.


Boots

Most Boots stores will open with reduced trading hours.

Opening hours vary, with some opening at 9am, and others staying closed until 10am or 12pm.

Most stores will close at 6pm on Boxing Day and Britons can check their local opening times online.

Zara store

Zara stores will open across the UK

PA

Currys

Many Currys branches will open at 9am and close at 6pm or 7pm.

Customers can find their local branches opening hours on its website.

Argos

Standalone Argos stores will be open between 9am and 6pm.

Branches found within Sainsbury's stores will have the same opening times as the supermarket.

IKEA

IKEA stores all have slightly different opening hours but many stores will be open between 10am and 6pm.

Shoppers can check with their local store for more specific times.

Zara

Zara is open on Boxing Day with branches operating between 9am and 10pm, depending on the store.

LUSH

LUSH will open for its sale but with reduced hours.

These will vary, with some branches only open between 10.30am and 5pm.

Matalan

Most Matalan branches will open their doors between 9am and 6pm.

The retailer has shared the below exceptions:

Most branches will open between 9am and 6pm but shoppers can check its website for information on their local store.

What stores will not open?

In recent years, some retailers have decided to keep doors closed on Boxing Day to give staff a well-earned festive break.

Next, Marks & Spencer, B&Q and John Lewis will stay closed on Boxing Day, reopening on the morning of the 27th.

Shoppers will be able to grab a sale bargain online or shop in stores on Wednesday.

Many supermarkets will also stay closed until the 27th. Aldi, Asda, Lidl and Waitrose will not open on Boxing Day.
