Rihanna left Los Angeles on Monday aboard a private aircraft, departing from Van Nuys Airport just hours after the woman accused of shooting at her Beverly Hills residence was charged with attempted murder.
The 38-year-old singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, was photographed travelling to the airport's private terminal accompanied by a convoy of SUVs before boarding a small twin-engine jet.
Her departure came in the wake of Sunday's alarming rifle attack on the mansion she shares with partner A$AP Rocky.
Whether the trip was pre-planned or a direct response to the disturbing incident remains unclear.

Photographs captured luggage being loaded into vehicles before the aircraft took off, with the Grammy-winning artist appearing to leave the city amid the ongoing investigation.
The suspect has been identified as Ivanna Ortiz, a 35-year-old woman from Florida, who now faces an attempted murder charge and is being held on bail set at $10.2 million.
Authorities allege she discharged approximately 10 rounds from an AR-15-style rifle while seated in a white Tesla parked opposite the property on Sunday afternoon.
Police received emergency calls reporting gunfire at around 1:15pm local time.

Television footage broadcast by KABC-TV revealed what appeared to be multiple bullet holes in the front gate of the residence.
Officers located and apprehended Ms Ortiz roughly 30 minutes after the incident at a car park in Sherman Oaks, recovering the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.
Prosecutors had not formally announced charges as of Monday morning.
Rihanna was reportedly inside the property when the shots rang out, though no injuries were sustained.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Newly obtained 911 dispatch audio painted a disturbing picture of events as they unfolded, with operators heard urgently relaying that approximately 10 shots had been fired at the address.
Dispatchers initially lacked details about the driver or vehicle registration, though they broadcast the direction the car was travelling.
The recording captured the moment officers searched through surveillance footage to obtain a clearer view of the white Tesla, which was described as having temporary paper plates and being dirty on the underside.
A police helicopter eventually spotted the vehicle matching this description in a Sherman Oaks car park, leading to Ms Ortiz's arrest.

A source close to the couple told the New York Post they "don't know much" about what happened and were "left in the dark" regarding the incident.
Following the attack, the singer is said to have significantly bolstered her personal protection arrangements.
A source told Page Six that she is "taking extra security precautions" and has even postponed an upcoming photo shoot as a result of the shooting.
The insider added that the Disturbia performer has been "freaking the f*** out" after the assault involving an AR-15 rifle.
"Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened," the source said. "Even with a great security team in place, it's scary to realize that something like this can still happen."
The source described the ordeal as "terrifying" but noted the singer is grateful "everyone is safe".
The LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division is continuing to investigate, with detectives working to establish the alleged shooter's motive.
