The Mysterious Girl singer shared a sweet announcement

Peter Andre has revealed his deep gratitude after his mother and father reached their platinum wedding anniversary.

Through a social media post, the entertainer expressed how he had hoped and prayed to witness the remarkable achievement.

The 52-year-old performer uploaded a touching tribute on Instagram featuring photographs of Savvas and Thea Andrea, who have now been married for seven decades. His message conveyed profound emotion as he acknowledged the significance of this family milestone.

"I prayed for this moment. They made it. 70 years of marriage for the most incredible parents," he wrote in the caption accompanying the images.

The television personality's post reflected his overwhelming happiness at seeing his elderly parents reach this extraordinary marital landmark together.

The Instagram tribute included four carefully selected images showcasing the couple's enduring love story.

Two photographs captured Savvas and Thea at different life stages - one from their younger years and another taken recently.

Notably, the post also displayed official correspondence marking this rare achievement. Letters from both King Charles and Samantha Mostyn, Australia's Governor-General, offered formal congratulations to the couple on reaching their platinum milestone.

In his heartfelt message, the performer thanked his parents for their lasting influence on his life. "Mum and dad, we love you more than words can describe.

"Please may Jehovah bless you both. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Two of a kind," he added.

The 90-year-old Thea and 92-year-old Savvas currently reside in Australia, where they received these prestigious acknowledgements of their enduring union.

The entertainer has previously opened up about the challenges of watching his parents' health deteriorate, particularly his mother's medical conditions.

Thea lives with both Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's, which has been especially difficult for the family to witness.

In his New! magazine column last year, the singer acknowledged the painful reality of seeing his parents' physical decline.

"Although I thank God my parents are still here, I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum. I find that part hard to deal with," he revealed.

The previous year's 69th anniversary celebration saw Savvas visiting Thea at her care facility, bringing her flowers.

A video shared by their son captured the touching moment when the 91-year-old presented the bouquet to his wife, who responded with visible joy.

The performer's own romantic journey has been influenced by his parents' example of lasting commitment.

This year marked a decade of marriage to Emily MacDonagh, whom he met under unusual circumstances when her father performed surgery on him for a kidney issue.

During an appearance on The Ray Darcy Show, he recounted seeking permission from Emily's father before pursuing a relationship. "I said, 'Look before I say anything to Emily, I'm really sorry, but I've got feelings for her. Are you OK with me asking her on a date?'" he recalled.

The surgeon responded positively, having noticed their connection, and remains close to the family. The couple's enduring partnership reflects the values instilled by his parents' seven-decade marriage.
