The Mysterious Girl popstar was quizzed on whether couples should have shared bank accounts

Peter Andre has spoken out on the financial arrangements he has with wife Emily MacDonagh, confirming they don’t have a prenup (prenuptial agreement).

The revelation came about during a GB News discussion about whether couples should share a joint bank account.

Ellie Costello quizzed Andre on the matter, asking whether he has an “old school” approach of “what’s yours is mine”.

The ‘Mysterious Girl’ star said that different cultures dictate people’s stances, with “some thinking you should keep your own money, and some think it should all be together”.

He went on to admit that his personal opinion on the matter has shifted over the years.

“I think it depends on upbringing, some cultures think you should keep your own money, some think it should all be kept together”, he said.

“As you grow older, you start to figure it out yourself. I know with Emily (MacDonagh) at the start, I had very different views to what I have now.

“We don’t have a prenup. We have children together. We had a discussion before we got married.

“I knew I was going to stay with her forever, so it (money) all stays in the same place anyway.”

Counselling psychologist Dr Louise Goddard-Crawley said approaching the matter of organising money with empathy is key for couples.

“We’re constantly evolving”, she said.

“That conversation has to keep going, in 20 years, you might be in a different place financially.

“The key is empathy and understanding where your partner is with finances. It’s about open dialogue.”

The 50-year-old pop star this week spoke on his excitement as he prepares to welcome his fifth child.

Asked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain about Emily’s due date, he said the mother to his children Theo, six, and Millie, nine, has “eight or nine weeks to go”.

Speaking on her wellbeing, he said “she is good”.

“I really have a lot of respect when you see what they go through”, he added.
