Television personality and former model Penny Lancaster has disclosed that her rock star husband Sir Rod Stewart has a singular grievance concerning her wardrobe selections.

The 54-year-old revealed one fashion request Mr Stewart has that she tries to stick to.

During an appearance on the Second Act podcast with Ateh Jewel, Ms Lancaster shared that the 80-year-old musician particularly dislikes seeing her in jeans.

"He doesn't particularly love me in jeans," she confessed. The special constable explained that Mr Stewart appreciates when she "dresses the part" and has a particular fondness for her legs.

"I mean I do have good legs," she stated. "I can say that, I'm not ashamed to be able to compliment myself because I've got so many other areas of me that I don't like.

"And he loves my legs. So I do appreciate that. And so I will wear a short skirt."

Ms Lancaster and Mr Stewart's romance began when she photographed the musician whilst he was touring in 1999.

Their professional encounter evolved into a personal connection, culminating in marriage eight years later in 2007.

The ceremony took place in the Italian coastal town of Portofino. The couple are parents to two teenage sons, 19-year-old Alastair and 14-year-old Aiden.

Ms Lancaster characterises their partnership as collaborative, describing them as a "great team" who consistently support one another.

In her memoir Someone Like Me, she chronicles significant moments in their relationship, including Stewart's decision to abandon drugs and his change of heart about having more children.

She also recounts his 2005 proposal, noting that he got down on his "dodgy" knee to ask for her hand in marriage.

Lancaster reflected on her school years when peers would mock her hemlines.

"I remember being teased at school about is that skirt short enough? I'm like, no, actually, it's my legs. They're too long," she recalled.

The couple marked their 18th wedding anniversary earlier this year with a romantic railway journey from Paris to Portofino aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Ms Lancaster documented the nostalgic trip on social media, describing it as "totally magical" whilst noting the significance of travelling from their engagement city to their wedding location.

In 2024, Stewart publicly addressed speculation about marital difficulties, firmly rejecting claims of disagreement over their living arrangements.
