Paloma Faith has welcomed her third child, a baby boy who arrived earlier than expected on Friday, March 6.
The 44-year-old singer revealed the news to her 1.1 million Instagram followers on Tuesday, sharing an intimate black-and-white photograph of her hand cradling her newborn son's tiny fingers.
The infant required specialist care in the neonatal intensive care unit for three days following his birth.
Ms Faith, best known for hits including Only Love Can Hurt Like This, confirmed that she and her son were heading home today after his brief hospital stay.
The star praised the medical professionals who supported her through the delivery, describing the midwives and team around her as "incredible" during the experience.
In her candid Instagram post, the Celebrity Traitors star spoke openly about the difficulties of her recovery, writing: "As usual its not easy, I'm engorged already, day three intrusive thoughts, in love with my partner and my kids more than ever. Just taking it all slow."
The singer was emphatic about the physical toll of the procedure, declaring: "C sections ARE PAINFUL!"
Despite the challenges, Ms Faith described her newborn as "perfect and wonderful" whilst acknowledging the ongoing struggles of early motherhood.

She also admitted that feeding her son had proved demanding, stating simply: "Breastfeeding is hard."
The performer has previously been forthright about the realities of childbirth, having spoken publicly about complications during her earlier pregnancies.
Ms Faith has been remarkably open about the traumatic experiences surrounding her previous births.
Following the arrival of her first daughter in 2016, she underwent an emergency caesarean that left her unable to walk properly for three months.

When announcing this latest pregnancy in October, the 44-year-old acknowledged her concerns about expecting at her age, writing on social media: "Pregnancy at 44.
"Ngl that's a bit worrying but I'm trying to pretend to myself I'm calm so that eventually that comes true." (sic)

Fellow celebrities swiftly offered their congratulations beneath Ms Faith's announcement.
Alan Carr, who triumphed on The Celebrity Traitors after eliminating pal Ms Faith from the competition, wrote: "Oh how wonderful. Congratulations darling!"
Claudia Winkleman, presenter of the BBC reality programme, commented: "Massive congratulations, brilliant news. All love."
Kate Garraway, another contestant on the show, added: "Oh this is so so wonderful. Congratulations you fabulous mama and utterly gorgeous brilliant woman."
Jesy Nelson, Fearne Cotton and Jools Holland were among the other famous faces sending their well wishes.
The singer already has two daughters, aged nine and four, from her previous relationship with French artist Leyman Lahcine.
