Pop star Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have confirmed their separation after nearly a decade together, ending months of speculation about their relationship status.
In a joint statement released through their representatives on Thursday, the couple revealed they "have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting" their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect," the statement said.
The announcement was made "due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship," according to the statement provided to multiple US media outlets.

The 40-year-old singer and 48-year-old actor first began their relationship in 2016, though they briefly separated in March 2017 before reconciling by February 2018.
Bloom proposed on Valentine's Day 2019, as Perry later revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The couple welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove on 26 August 2020, with UNICEF announcing the birth on its Instagram account. Both Perry and Bloom serve as goodwill ambassadors for the UN agency.
Despite their engagement lasting six years, sources indicated the pair "never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything and Orlando is over it," according to an insider.

The confirmation comes just one week after initial reports suggested the couple had split but remained "amicable."
Sources close to the couple revealed the split was "a long time coming" with tensions mounting "for months," according to US Weekly.
Perry's struggles with her latest album appeared to strain the relationship, with a source telling People in June: "Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed.
"Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension."
The singer released her "143" album in September to poor reviews.
Insiders told Page Six last month that the couple were "waiting till her tour is over" to announce their separation. Perry has been touring since 23 April and is scheduled to continue performing until December.
A source noted that whilst Perry "is of course upset," she was "relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.

The California-born singer, whose birth name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, became one of the best-selling artists of all time with hits including I Kissed A Girl, Roar, California Gurls and Firework.
Her 2010 album Teenage Dream produced five number one singles, matching a record set by Michael Jackson's Bad.

Bloom, from Canterbury, was married to Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. They share a 13-year-old son, Flynn.
