The former ballerina said the event left her shaken, sad and heartbroken

Melanie Hamrick, the 38-year-old fiancée of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, has alleged she was physically assaulted at Annabel's private members' club in Mayfair during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The former ballerina shared details of the incident on her Instagram Stories, writing: "This is incredibly hard to share, but I was physically attacked at Annabel's Mayfair tonight."

She continued: "Two people grabbed me from behind, and thank god for good people who stepped in to help me."

Ms Hamrick had spent the earlier part of her evening at Nobu restaurant on Portman Square, where she dined with two friends before heading to the exclusive Mayfair establishment.

In her social media post, the choreographer wrote: "I'm shaken, sad and heartbroken that people can treat each other this way."

Prior to sharing news of the alleged attack, Ms Hamrick had posted an image of herself enjoying a meal with companions.

It remains unclear whether the incident took place inside the venue or outside the premises.

Ms Hamrick and Mr Jagger, now 82, began their relationship after meeting in Tokyo in 2014.

The encounter occurred while she was touring Japan with the American Ballet Theatre and the Rolling Stones were performing in the city.

The couple welcomed their son Devereaux in 2016, with the couple releasing a joint statement that read: "Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time."

The child is the youngest of Mr Jagger’s eight children, seven of whom he shares with five different partners, ranging in age from single digits to their 50s.

While the pair have been engaged for several years, they have not yet married.

Ms Hamrick previously told Paris Match: "We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything."

It is not believed the rock legend was accompanying her at the time of the alleged attack.

Annabel's is a luxury private members' club where annual membership allegedly costs in excess of £3,000.

The venue has not yet responded to the allegations.

A Met spokesperson told GB News: “We are aware of an Instagram story alleging an assault in Mayfair on Tuesday 10 February, and encourage the victim to report this to us.

“The Met is committed to tackling crime in the West End, including violence against women and girls, and recognise the traumatic impact incidents of this nature can have on victims.

“By increasing visible patrols in identified hotspots, we have already reduced theft in the area by 30 per cent since last April, while personal robbery is down by 20 per cent, meaning thousands fewer victims.”

They added that "The Met has not received a report relating to this incident, but encourage the victim to report this to officers, either by calling 101 or reporting it online."

The alleged assault comes just days after Vikas Nath, a London restaurateur, was found guilty of spiking a woman's drink at the same establishment.

Bar staff spotted Mr Nath pouring liquid from a small vanilla extract bottle into the victim's glass while she was away and swiftly replaced the drink before she could consume it.

Realising he had been caught, Mr Nath hid the bottle in a toilet cistern, where it was later recovered by police. Prosecutors said he intended to incapacitate the woman and sexually assault her at his Knightsbridge home.

He was convicted at Southwark Crown Court of attempting to administer a substance with intent to commit a sexual offence and possession of a Class B drug, and will face sentencing later this month.

Ms Hamrick and Mr Jagger made a rare public appearance together last year when they attended the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala.

The couple typically maintain a private lifestyle despite his global fame.
