Lorraine Kelly has revealed she is undergoing preventative keyhole surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes after feeling unwell for some time.
The 65-year-old TV presenter shared the news with fans on Saturday afternoon from her hospital bed.
In a video posted to Instagram, Kelly explained she had been experiencing health issues recently.
"I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out," she told followers.

The beloved Scottish host assured fans the procedure was "purely preventative".
Kelly shared the update from her hospital bed around lunchtime on Saturday, May 3. She added in the video: "Just wanted to let you know I'm having a wee procedure today."
The ITV presenter explained that the surgery would be performed using keyhole techniques.
"It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible," Kelly noted.
Kelly did not reveal why the procedure was necessary but was keen to reassure her followers about her condition.
"I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon... I'm going to be totally fine. See you soon," she added confidently.
The presenter also did not specify when she would be returning to her regular presenting duties on her ITV morning show.

"Getting keyhole surgery – all preventative – feel very lucky to be treated so well – thank you Dr Raafat and all the staff!" she wrote in her Instagram caption.
The procedure comes after fans had previously expressed concern for Kelly in March when she appeared on Good Morning Britain with a puffy face.
She later explained this was due to an accident involving a wooden rhino ornament.
The TV presenter has received an outpouring of support from celebrity friends following her announcement.
Adele Roberts posted: "Lots of love to you, Lorraine! Get well soon."
Barbara Windsor's widower Scott Mitchell wrote: "Big love Lorraine!!"
Katie Piper also shared her support, writing: "Hope you make a speedy recovery."
Julia Bradbury wished her well, commenting: "Wishing you a speedy recovery, Lorraine, and good luck with the post-op rehab."
Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid added: "Sending you all the love in the world."

Fans also took to the comments under her update to share their support for the ITV star.
"Get well soon lovely Lorraine. We will miss you in the mornings, but take time for you & rest up. Don't forget to DREAM. Drink plenty, eat nourishing foods, Mobilise ~ gently get back to your fitness," one penned.
Another empathised: "Get well soon please talk more about symptoms. I’ve been poorly for a while with women problems that doctors brush off with my age x."
