The To All the Girls I've Loved Before singer has been at the centre of an investigation

Spanish music icon Julio Iglesias it understood to be facing accusations of sexual assault from two women who previously worked at his Caribbean residences, according to a joint investigation released today by elDiario.es and Univision Noticias.

The accusers, a domestic worker and a physiotherapist, were employed at the 82-year-old singer's properties in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Lyford Cay in the Bahamas.

Both women allege they experienced unwanted sexual contact, coercion and degrading treatment during their employment in 2021.

The investigation, which took three years to complete, drew upon interviews with 15 former staff members alongside documentary evidence including messages, medical records and employment documentation.

The domestic worker, referred to by the pseudonym Rebeca, claims the singer, who was 77 at the time, would regularly call her to his bedroom once the evening had concluded.

"He used me almost every night," she told the investigating journalists. "I felt like an object, like a slave."

According to her testimony, these alleged sexual encounters nearly always occurred with another member of household staff present, someone who held a supervisory position over her.

The accusers have described feeling pressured by senior employees who, they claim, helped facilitate the alleged offences within what they characterised as a rigid and intimidating workplace hierarchy.

Rebeca alleges she endured slapping alongside physical and verbal mistreatment during her time at the properties.

The second accuser, a physiotherapist identified by the pseudonym Laura, alleges that Iglesias kissed her on the mouth and touched her breasts without her consent.

She has described experiencing inappropriate physical contact, verbal abuse and humiliation throughout her employment.

Both women have spoken of working within an atmosphere marked by constant harassment and pervasive control.

The accusers maintain they operated under a workplace structure designed to intimidate, with senior staff members allegedly complicit in enabling the singer's behaviour.

Laura was 22 years old when the alleged incidents took place, making her significantly younger than the then-77-year-old performer.

The women's accounts paint a picture of systematic mistreatment within the singer's household operations across both Caribbean locations.

A former manager at the Punta Cana residence, whom Rebeca identified as her initial supervisor, has rejected the allegations as "nonsense".

The ex-employee expressed only "gratitude, admiration, and respect for the great artist and human being that he is," describing Iglesias as "humble, generous, a great gentleman, and very respectful to all women".

The investigating journalists report that repeated attempts to reach Iglesias and his legal representative went unanswered, with emails, telephone messages and letters delivered to his homes receiving no response.

GB News has approached Iglesias' representatives for a comment.
