The Strictly Come Dancing star talked candidly about the impact the presenters' exits will have on the show

Strictly Come Dancing star Jowita Przystał shared her thoughts on Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly's departures from the BBC favourite.

The popular duo announced last year that the 2025 series would be their last, with the news coming as a shock to both fans and co-stars.

Speaking to GB News at the TV Choice Awards on Monday, Ms Przystał delved into the show's future amid fan concern that it might lose part of its charm without Ms Winkleman and Ms Daly.

"I think everyone was [shocked] to be honest," she admitted as she recalled hearing the news.

"I was really shocked, and I will miss it so much because I don't know anything else - when I joined the show, it was already Tess and Claudia.

"So to have someone else, it will be different, yeah, but good. I think changes are necessary, and I'm a big fan of Tess and Claudia, and I just wish them all the best for whatever the upcoming things are in their lives."

When asked who she thinks might replace the pair, she shared: "To be honest with you, I think it will be already very stressful for whoever is going to take that, it's big shoes to fill.

"But no matter who it's going to be, we're going to welcome them, and he or she, and however many people - because that's also a thing that we don't know - we're going to welcome them, and they going to be a part of the Strictly family."

Acknowledging the impact of the presenters' exits though, she admitted: "I think definitely it won't be the same, but I do believe that just because it's going to be different, it doesn't mean it's going to be worse or better. It's just going to be different.

"And Strictly is all about that love of dance, you know, about Ballroom and Latin, the beautiful connection between people.

"And I think this is going to stay, no matter who's going to host, no matter who's going to judge, no matter who's going to be a professional dancer, the idea of the show is still the same."

Ms Przystał was clearly full of optimism about Strictly's future as she added: "So I think, I hope. that the people and viewers will stay with us, and maybe we'll gain more, who knows?

"But yeah, I think the essence of the show is going to be still there, no matter who's going to be around."

Her response also seems to confirm that the Polish dancer has no plans to make an exit herself.

When asked who her dream partner would be, she told GB News: "Rowan Atkinson," adding: "I think he'd be hilarious.

"He'd be perfect. I know he's got the moves, and I really would love to meet him."

Back in October, Ms Winkleman and Ms Daly issued a joint statement announcing their plans to leave Strictly.

They detailed how much they'd "loved" working on the show, which they have fronted for decades, but that they felt the time "feels right" to bid the dance series farewell.

During the finale of last year's show, which saw Karen Carney and Carlos Gu crowned the winners, the two became emotional during special tributes that were showcased for them throughout the episode.

Despite plenty of names circulating on the rumour mill as to who might replace the pair, the BBC is yet to confirm the official new presenters.
